Israeli shellings kill four Palestinians - medics

GAZA, May 26 (Reuters) Israeli shelling into northern Gaza killed three Palestinian men inside their home, Palestinian medics said, hours after the Israeli army killed a Palestinian farmer near the area.

The Israeli army said it was checking the report of the latest shelling. A spokeswoman said earlier about the first attack that troops had fired into areas from which Palestinian militants had launched rockets into Israel.

Five more Palestinians were wounded in the latest shelling, medics said, adding that the dead men were in their 20s and two were from the same family. Palestinian security sources said none of them were known to be militants.

Israeli troops have in recent days fired dozens of artillery shells into north Gaza, while militants in the territory have increased their rocket attacks. A rocket launched from the area landed in an Israeli school last week, causing no casualties.
