Growth of Industry opens up huge employment

Kolkata, May 26: Genius Consultants Limited, the largest private employment exchange in the country with pan India presence, plans to become a global entity by 2008 with new recruiting centres in the USA and U.K.

Speaking to newsmen here today to announce the company's future programmes, Chairman and Managing Director of the Rs 26 crore company R P Yadav said during the current fiscal, besides recording over 100 per cent growth in turnover, they were planning to open at least seven new centres/offices within the country to take their total number to 17 by March 31 next.

These new offices would be located in Chandigarh, Kanpur, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Nagpur, Cochi and Coimbatore, Mr Yadav said, adding at present they were present in Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar and Guwahati, among others.

Claiming that Genius provided the widest range of job opportunities in both public and private sector units within the country, Mr Yadav said during the past two years they had ensured over 9,000 direct placement in about 210 corporate and private business houses ascross the country apart from arranging 7,000 outsourcing jobs in over 100 corporate and government entities.

Asked about the focussed areas where maximum number of job opportunities had been created, Mr Yadav said they included the IT, ITES, Telecom, Insurance, Mutual Fund, Entertainment and Hospital and Hospitality industries where the demand for suitable human resources had increased manifold during the past few years, creating a huge demand-supply gap.

Highlighting Genius'financial growth, he said that in tune with the past few years trend of achieving 100 per cent growth in revenue generation, they were all set to double their business turnover to Rs 60 crores during the current financial year from Rs 26 crores achieved last year. During the period, the total number of employees of Geinus would also go up from around 140 to over 300 by March next.

About his plan to go global within the next two years, Mr Yadav elaborated that in their overseas venture, the prime thrust would be not only to arrange overseas employment opportunities for suitable Indian job seekers, but also to arrange suitable job for skillful non-resident Indians who wanted to return to their homeland. He also did not rule out the possibility of tying up with reputed foreign companies for this purpose.

Mr Yadav said the size of the total market of job seekers in India was to the tune of Rs 2800 crores, adding that of late a number of multi-nationals like Kelly and Manpower had set their foot in India with an eye to capture lion's share in the huge untapped job market for skilled people.

However, simultaneously the number of attrition was also going up steadily in India and was presently hovering around 15 per cent to 20 per cent per annum among the skilled manpower category, Mr Yadav informed.
