Fresh counselling for PG courses from May 29

Vijayawada, May 26 (UNI) The Dr NTR University of Health Sciences (UHS) would conduct fresh counselling for admission to post-graduate medical courses from May 29, in compliance with High Court orders.

University Registrar P Jayakar Babu said in a release that counselling would be held upto June 4.

He said the university authorities would conduct it based on state-wide merit/ranking in categories as per the 100 point roster.

Separate rosters would be followed for each university area and for state-wide institutions such as Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada and Osmania Medical College, (Hyderabad).

The seats available and university-wise roster points would be displayed in the university website-http://ntrush.Ap.Nic.In, one day before the commencement of counselling.

The fresh counselling was necessitated as some students filed petitions in the Andhra Pradesh High Court over adding five marks in the PG medical entrance test by university authorities. The High Court struck down the earlier counselling on the ground that adding extra marks benefited in-service candidates.

The university would follow the HC directive and conduct fresh counselling after removing the five marks, the release added.
