Digvijay soars to tied 17th, 5 Indians make cut in Philippines Open
Manila, May 26 (UNI) Meerut-based Digvijay Singh carded an impressive two-under 70 to soar to tied 17th as five Indians made the halfway cut at the 90th Philippine Open golf tournament here today.
Australian Scott Strange shares the lead with Yeh Chang-ting of Chinese Taipe at sixunder 138, to stay one stroke ahead of Chris Rodgers who carded a scintillating three-under 69 today.
The dropped shot on the 17th was the only blemish in Digvijay's round which had a bogey-free back nine with a birdie on the eighth.
The 10th tee starter also picked up two more shots on the 10th and 18th holes.
Digvijay overcame his poor opening round of 75 with this show and is placed tied 17th with the two-day total of one-over 145.
Gurbaaz Mann hangs on to his 25th place at two-over 146 after carding his second successive round of 73, joined by Kolkata pro SSP Chowrasia with an even-par show today.
Others who made the cut include Harmeet Kahlon (148) and Uttam Singh Mundy (149).
Those who fell by the wayside are Jaiveer Virk (151), Gaurav Ghei (151), Harinder Gupta (152), Amritinder Singh (152) and Arjun Singh (158).
