Chouhan pats self on MP law and order situation

Betul, MP, May 26 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today claimed that the state's law and order situation was better than in other states and if any lacuna existed it would be addressed.

''My government is paying full attention to development and public welfare,'' he told mediapersons while admitting a power paucity but adding that an attempt was underway to meet the shortfall through purchase.

The chief minister today laid the foundation stone for a Rs 11-crore dam in this district's Bapud village and also inaugurated the police superintendent's office. He blessed couples in a mass marriage ceremony at a public welfare camp.

Mr Chouhan was accompanied by Water Resources Minister Anup Mishra and Mr Kamal Patel who is the minister in charge of the district.

Responding to a question, the chief minister denied that BJP workers were joining former chief minister Uma Bharti's recently-constituted Bharatiya Janshakti.
