Brijesh's remarks against Pawar draws flak from ex-cricketer
Bangalore, May 26 (UNI) Former Karnataka cricketer Imtiaz Ahmed today took exception to Karnataka State Cricket Association Secretary Brijesh Patel's reported remarks against BCCI President Sharad Pawar.
In a statement here, Ahmed, a former Ranji cricketer from the state, said it was saddening to note that Mr Patel periodically pointed fingers at the BCCI, the governing body, after his group was 'ousted' from power recently.
''Calling Mr Pawar a puppet and now doubting the transperency of the functioning of the BCCI does not augur well for Karnataka Cricket which had presented to the country legends known for their humble and modest nature. The behaviour of the Secretary will add to the woes of Karnataka Cricket which is already at crossroads. It will be better for Mr Patel to accept the defeat at least now and patiently wait for better fortune in the interest of the state's cricket,'' he added.
