Bangalore, May 26 (UNI) Senior BJP leader and Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, along with party leader and Higher Education Minister D H Shankaramurthy, met Governor T N Chaturvedi at the Raj Bhavan this evening.

Though Mr Yediyurappa described his visit as a courtesy call, the meeting assumes significance in the wake of a section of the BJP leaders, including Basavaraj Patil Yatnal, MP, trying to oust him by launching a campaign.

Talking to waiting reporters after emerging out of the Raj Bhavan after a 45-minute meeting, Mr Yediyurappa said no signifance need to be attached to the meeting as it was regular one. ''There is nothing special about today's visit. It is simply a courtesy call. We did not discuss any political issues.'' Asked about the developments within the party state unit following Mr Yatnal launching the ''Yediyurappa Hatao'' campaign, he said he was not perturbed by the attitude of his fellow party member and his supporters. No political party was immunue to such incidents, he said.

He informed that the BJP ministers in the coalition government in the state met this morning and discussed about Mr Yatnal's behaviour. They had forwarded the outcome of the meeting to party President Rajnath Singh for action. They have not sought any disciplinary action against Mr Yatnal. However, the party high command was aware of the developments in the state unit, he added.

Mr Shankaramurthy also maintained that the meeting with the Governor was just a courtesy call. The current developments in the party would neither create a dent in its image nor affect the administration, he added.

He said Party State President Sadananda Gowda would also send a detailed report to the party high command on the issue.
