Bijapur records maximum 36.5 degree celsius

Bangalore, May 26 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded here at 0830 hours today.

The heavy rain may occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka during next 48 hours.

The rainfall occurred at a most places over Coastal Karnataka; at many places over North Interior Karnataka and at a few places over South Interior Karnataka.

The heavy rainfall amounts in (cm): Almatti 10, Tavaregere and Bijapur 8 each. Other chief rainfall amounts (cm); Bajpe 6, Belthangadi, Hanumasagar, Kampli 5 each, Mudibidre, Bantwal, Panambur, Kollur, Saidapur 4 each, Mangalore, Dharmasthala, Mulki, Bhatkal, Bagalkote, Humnabad, Chincholi, Jeewargi, Shahapur, Kembhavi, Channapatna three each.

Maximum temperatures changed little over the State. They were appreciably above normal at a few places over Coastal Karnataka however were appreciably below normal at a few places over North Interior Karnataka and above normal at a few places over South Interior Karnataka.

Bijapur recorded highest maximum temperature of 36.5 degree celsius over the State.

Forecast valid until Monday morning : Rain/thundershowers is likely to occur at many places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Interior Karnataka.

Farmers forecast: Moderate to rather heavy rain is likely to occur at most places over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and at many places over Uttara Kannada of Coastal Karnataka. Isolated heavy rainfall is likely to occur over Dakshina Kannada&Udupi districts of Coastal Karnataka during next 48 hours. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at many places over Shimoga, Chikmagalur, Hassan and Kodagu districts of South Interior Karnataka and at a few places over the remaining districts of South Interior Karnataka and all the districts of North Interior Karnataka.

Outlook for subsequent two days: Increase in rainfall is expected over the State.

Forecast for Bangalore city : Generally cloudy. One or two spells of light rain likely. Maximum temperature would be around 31 degree celsius.
