AIADMK MLAs file complaint with Speaker

Chennai, May 26 (UNI) AIADMK MLAs led by Leader of the Opposition O Panneerselvam today filed a complaint with Assembly Speaker R Auvidyappan demanding action against Congress legislators for allegedly attacking them.

Mr Panneerselvam, along with AIADMK Deputy Leader K A Sengottaiyan and Party Whip D Jayakumar, met the Speaker at his Chamber and formally handed over the complaint. They also urged him to give protection to them.

The filing of complaint comes a few hours after the en masse eviction of the AIADMK members from the House and the Speaker subsequently announcing their suspension for the rest of the session.

However, following an appeal by the Chief Minister, the Speaker announced the Business Advisory Committee would meet at 0900 hrs tomorrow at his Chamber to discuss reconsideration of the decision.

Congress MLA Gnanasekaran, who was allegedly attacked by the AIADMK members, also filed a petition before the Speaker seeking action against the Opposition party members.
