2005 an year of good price for rubber: PSF

Kottayam, May 25 (UNI) The Price Stabilization Fund (PSF) Trust has announced that 2005 was an year of good price for Rubber.

On the basis of the announcement the growers had to make a contribution of Rs 1000/- to the fund before June 30, an official release said.

PSF Trust was constituted by the Union Government to provide income support to Rubber, Coffee, Tea and Tobacco farmers when the price falls below remunerative level. When the price remains below the lower bound the trust fund will contribute to the accounts of the growers. When the price goes above the upper bound of the band the growers will have to make full contribution and when the price remains within the band the growers and the trust will have to make equal contribution. The price spectrum band is an average price of previous 7 years international rate.
