108 students secure positions, HSLC results out
Guwahati, May 26 (UNI) At least 108 candidates secured position in the High Schools leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination, which was declared by the Secondary Board of Education of Asom (SEBA).
The total 53.44 per cent passed with 13552 students securing first division from small towns overtook their counterparts of the big cities.
The first position was secured by Arindam Nath from Gordon School Nalbari and most of the top ten positions were secured from small towns and vernacular medium students.
A total 1,99,786 students had appeared in the examination and nearly one lakh have passed.
However, Asom is facing scarcity of seats in the Higher Secondary standard.
Top colleges like Cotton College would be admitting only those who secured positions in the examination.
