Training camp on modern acting attracts students

Pondicherry, May 25 (UNI) A month long training camp on modern acting jointly organised by the National school of Drama and the Department of Performing Arts, Pondicherry University is attracting several students from Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.

Adressing a press conference here today Raje, Head of the Department of Performing Arts said the camp was the first ever on modern acting.

About 25 students from different parts of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry were taking part.

The camp also gave training on 'silambattam' to the students.

Mr Raje said Shakespeare's "Macbeth" would be staged on June 8 and 9 for the students.

Actor Nassar was present on the occasion.

The camp, which began on May 10 will be on till June 10.
