SR to cancel trains from Jun 27 for track doubling work

Kochi, May 25 (UNI) Southern Railways (SR) has announced the regulation and cancellation of a number of trains in the Ernakulam sector and cautioned of delays as a consequence due to track doubling work commencing on June 27.

Addressing a press conference here today, Thiruvananthapuram Divisional Railway Manager S Vijayakumaran said the doubling work between Ernakulam and Thripunithura will take 11 days, beginning June 27.

During the period, non-interlocking of signal system would be observed and signalling operated manually leading to delays.

All passenger trains from Kottayam section would run upto Thrippunithura instead of proceeding to Ernakulam Junction and return from there.

The passenger trains from Shoranur would end at Alwaye. Besides, a number of trains would be regulated and diverted during the period.

Special bus services will be operated between Thrippunithura and Alwaye to help the passengers.
