South West monsoon advances in Arabian Sea, Bay

Pune, May 25 (UNI) South West monsoon has further advanced into some parts of South Arabian sea, Maldives, Commorin areas, parts of South West Bay, entire South East Bay, some parts of West Central Bay, East Central Bay and North East Bay.

Day temperatures were appreciably to markedly above normal in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and Jammu and Kashmir, and were above normal in some parts of Saurashtra and Kutch and Konkan and Goa.

They were appreciably to markedly below normal in some parts of Orissa, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Marathwada and Andha Pradesh State.

They were below normal in some parts of Bihar, East Rajasthan, Gujarat region, North Madhya Maharashtra and in remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhatisgarh and Andhra Pradesh State.

They were normal over the rest of the country.

Heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Kerala and Lakshadweep and at many places in Gangetic Wsst Bengal and Orissa, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Telangana, Rayalaseema and Karnataka State and at isolated places in Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Mahatrashtra , Marathwada and Tamil Nadu.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over Gujarat State.

Very light rains have occurred at isolated places in Bihar and Haryana.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Kerala and at many places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Rayalseema and Lakshadweep and at few places in Orissa, West Uttar Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh, Marathwada and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at isolated places in Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura, Manipur Jharkhand, East Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha Chhatisgrh, Konkan and Goa, Telangana Tamil Nadu and Karnataka State.
