SC, ST Doctors Assn demands change of procedure for admissions

Hyderabad, May 25 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh SC, ST, BC Doctors Association and other Dalit organisations today demanded that the state Government must conduct PG medical admissions as per Supreme Court ruling.

Talking to newsmen here, association Vice-President B Prasad said, the government should conduct admissions as per the G O Ms 167. He alleged the Government was conducting the same as per G O Ms No 74, through reverse sliding procedure. This procedure deprived the SC, ST, BC students of their rights, he added.

The association also demanded the change of Health Ministry portfolio from K Rosaiah and transfer of Principal Secretary (medical and health) IV Subba Rao, as they failed to do justice to them.

Andhra Pradesh Backward Class Welfare Association President R Krishnaiah warned they would stage a sit-in agitation in front of Health Minister K Rosaiah's residence in this regard.
