SAIL Q4 net down 59 pc, final dividend at 7.5 pc
Mumbai, May 25 (UNI) The public sector Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) has posted a net profit of Rs 1103.20 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006 as compared to Rs 2677.99 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year, a fall of 58.80 per cent.
Announcing the results, the company said its total income (net of excise) is Rs 9378.92 crore for Q4 FY 05-06 as compared to Rs 9533.88 crore in Q4 FY 04-05.
It has posted a net profit of Rs 4012.97 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006 (FY 05-06) as against Rs 6816.97 crore for the year ended March 31, 2005 (FY 04-05). Total Income (net of excise) is Rs 29311.99 crore for FY 05-06 as compared to Rs 29574.60 crore in FY 04-05.
The Board of Directors has recommended a final dividend of 7.5 per cent on paid-up equity share capital, in addition to the interim dividend of 12.5 per cent already paid, for the financial year 2005-06, thus taking the total dividend to 20 per cent on paid-up equity share capital, subject to approval of shareholders.
