Rains in AP ahead of monsoon

Hyderabad, May 25 (UNI)Rain occurred at many places over Rayalaseema and at a few places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana regions.

The city experienced heavy rains with thunder this evening.

Several low lying areas were inundated due to the downpour.

Vehicles were seen stranded causing traffic jam.

According to the weather report, the chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cm are Kurnool 4, Cuddapah, Bobbili (Vizianagaram dist), Kamalapuram&Proddatur (both Cuddapah dist), Veeraghattam (Srikakulam dist) 3 each, Kalingapatnam, Mahabubnagar, Nandyal, Visakhapatnam, Allagadda (Kurnool dist) 2 each and Anantapur, Nalgonda, Tuni, Paderu (Visakhapatnam dist), Tekkali (Srikakulam dist) one each.

Yesterday, the maximum temperatures significantly fell at many places over Rayalaseema and at a few places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the bulletin said.

They were significantly below normal at many places over Rayalaseema and at one or two places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh&Telangana. The highest maximum temperature of 41 degrees Celsius was recorded at Hanamakonda and Khammam, the report added..
