Protesters burn 'Fanaa' posters in Vadodara

Vadodara, May 25 (UNI) Protesting against film star Aamir Khan for his ''anti-Narmada'' stand, supporters of the two city-based youth organisations here today burnt the posters of his new film 'Fanaa' which is set for its nation-wide release tomorrow.

The anti-Aamir sloganeers belonging to Hindu Suraksha Samittee and Sardar Patel Samitee, demanded an unconditional apology from the filmstar for his recent ''outbursts'' against the Gujarat government on the Narmda dam issue.

Later, the mob which had gathered before Sardar Patel's statue at Sayajiganj, burnt 'Fanna' posters and dispersed soon after police reached the spot. Police are yet to register a case in this connection.

Earlier in April, all threatres in the city had to cancel the screening of Aamir's film 'Rang De Basanti' after the supporters of both the BJP and Congress parties went on rampage in some threatres protesting against the star's support to Medha Patkar-led Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA) against the Narmada project.
