PMK supports Telangana

Hyderabad, May 25 (UNI) Pattali Makkal Katchi(PMK) founder-president S Ramadoss today said his party supported the formation of a Telangana state.

Talking to mediapersons here, he said the PMK, an ally of the UPA government at the Centre supports the issue of Telangana.''The Telangana is in the Common Minimum Programme of UPA,'' he added.

Asked about the present status of Telangana and the statements of Congress and TRS leaders on the issue, Dr Ramadoss refused to comment.

Congress Rajya Sabha MP and Parliamentary Forum of OBC MPs convener V Hanumantha Rao, who was present said, it was improper for any Congress leader to give statements on the Telangana issue.

Stating that the Telangana issue was with AICC president Sonia Gandhi, he said Congress leaders would abide by her decision.
