Pitroda rules out resignation; says panel has a broader role
New Delhi, May 25 (UNI) Knowledge Commission Chairman Sam Pitroda today ruled out his resignation from the panel, even as two of his colleagues have quit on the raging reservation row.
''Two members resigned, that's unfortunate. But six are there, we have a bigger job to do. We have a responsibility...and we cannot just walk away from it,'' Mr Pitroda said in an interview to NDTV.
He said the Knowledge Commission, set up to advise Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, has a broader mandate which it would perform.
On the anti-reservation recommendations, Mr Pitroda said it was up to the government to take a view.'' We have given our recommendations. It's for the government to decide what it thinks is right. We are not in a position except to give recommendations to the government. We have done our job and we have to move on'', he said.
