Non-ferrous metal rates decline on poor industrial demand

Mumbai, May 25 (UNI) Non-ferrous metal rates declined on poor industrial demand, traders at the metal exchange said.

In the ferrous section, rates of copper heavy eased by Rs 800 per quintal on sustained heavy selling pressure. But copper utensils rose by Rs 500 per quintal on reduced stock supply.

In the non-ferrous section, rates of zinc slab and copper wire bars declined by Rs 500 and Rs 300 per quintal, respectively, while aluminium ingots and lead ingots eased by Rs 200 each per quintal on sustained heavy selling pressure.

Tin slab and Nickel cathode rates went up by Rs ten and Rs 30 per kg, respectively, on better buying support.

Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 37,700, copper utensils - Rs 32,000, brass utensils - Rs 21,500, brass cuttings - Rs 24,000, aluminium utensils - Rs 10,900.

Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars - Rs 41,200, aluminium ingots - Rs 14,200, zinc slab - Rs 18,000, lead ingots - Rs 6,700, tin slab - Rs 485 (per kg), nickel cathode - Rs 1,080 (per kg).
