No need for short-term policy moves -China c.bank
BEIJING, May 25 (Reuters) The latest economic data shows no need for China to follow up its April interest rate rise with further policy moves, a central bank official said in remarks published on Thursday.
Further moves would depend on money supply, the Shanghai Securities News quoted the head of the central bank's research division, Tang Xu, as saying.
The impact of April's modest rise in interest rates had not been very big on cooling loan demand among certain companies but further tightening moves were not necessary based on recent data, Tang said.
''Whether we need to take more tightening measures will still depend on money supply conditions within a certain time-frame in the future,'' Tang said.
