MCX index closes 25.85 pts up at 2,316.11

Mumbai, May 25 (UNI) Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) recorded a turnover of Rs 3,565.03 crore at the close of trading hour today.

The index closed at 2,316.11 up by 25.85 points (1.12 per cent).

The total trades registered were 51,424.

The MCX metal index closed at 2653.67 up by 32.94 points (1.24 per cent), while MCX energy index closed at 2669.12 up by 26.64 points (1.00 per cent) and MCX agri index closed at 1625.14 up by 17.57 (1.08 per cent).

The combined MCX bullion registered a turnover of Rs 2,733.90 crore, including various MCX gold at Rs 1,824.43 crore and MCX silver at Rs 909.47 crore. The total trades recorded for the MCX bullion were 32,968. The open interest for gold was 9,738 kg, while the outstanding position for silver was 2,67,620 kg.

In the metals segment, MCX copper registered a turnover of Rs 491.67 crore with 10,195 trades, while MCX aluminium recorded a turnover of Rs 9.29 crore with 337 trades. MCX zinc recorded a turnover of Rs 85.11 crore with 1,033 trades.

In the energy segment, crude oil contracts showed a turnover of Rs 36.50 crore with open interest of 3,87,700 BBL.

Meanwhile, potato recorded a turnover of Rs 34.14 crore with 1,487 trades and mentha oil registered a turnover of Rs 23.55 crore with 1,105 trades while chana registered a turnover of Rs 11.21 crore with 322 trades.

MCX gold June-06 closed at Rs 9,622 up by Rs 102 (1.06 per cent), August closed at Rs 9,812 up by Rs 91 (0.93 per cent) and October closed at Rs 10,051 up by Rs 83 (0.83 per cent).

MCX silver July-06 closed at Rs 19,324 up by Rs 165 (0.85 per cent), September closed at Rs 20,041 up by Rs 174 (0.87 per cent) and December closed at Rs 20,217 down by Rs 641 (-3.17 per cent).
