Manipur Assembly to discuss Office of Profit tomorrow
Imphal, May 25 (UNI) A special session of the Manipur Legislative Assembly will begin tomorrow to discuss the office of profit issue.
Six MLAs of the ruling party have been charged with holding offices of profit and the BJP has demanded their resignation.
The Assembly Secretariat said that the special session would have two sittings on May 26 and 29.
The Manipur Legislative (Removal of Disqualification) Act 1972 would also be introduced.
The State Cabinet, which met last evening, has also approved the draft bill, officials here today said.
An all party meeting was also held to discuss the issue.
The Bill envisaged removal of 43 posts from the list of office of profit.
