Lalu's intervention sought on Bhanupali-Bilaspur railway line
Shimla, May 25 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today sought Railway Minister Lalu Prasad's intervention on the construction of the Bhanupali-Bilaspur railway line in the state and said a feasibility report had already been submitted to the Ministry.
The railway expansion in the state has been negligible in the state since independence. The feasibility report on the construction of Bhanupali-Bilaspur railway line had already been submitted to the Railway Minister and was awaiting its response,'' he said, while talking to the Union Minister who called on him here.
Mr Singh said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during his visit to the state had assured that the Bhanupalli-Bilaspur railway line project would be executed as a National Project, the Nangal- Talwara railway line completed in two years and the survey of the Chandigarh-Baddi railway line completed within a year.
He also discussed the construction work of the Nangal-Talwara railway line with Mr Lalu and said with this speed it would take longer time for completion.
The Prime Minister had consented for the construction of an inland container depot at Baddi-Barotiwala area of Solan district that had emerged as a prominent industrial area of the state and that has to be connected with a rail link, he said.
The chief minister said the Railway Ministry had not yet given its clearance for the running of Dhauladhar Express between New Delhi and Pathankot seven days a week instead of thrice a week.
