Lalu says Nitish must keep promises

Shimla, May 25 (UNI) Refusing to rate the performance of the Nitish Kumar government in Bihar, Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad today said the state government will have to go if it did not keep its promises to the electorate.

''He has got the mandate. Vada jo kiya hai, nibhana padega, nahin to jana padega (He will have to keep the promises or quit). If I say more, they will say Lalu is not in power so he is babbling,'' he told reporters here.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the newspaper ratings about the performance of the union ministers, he said, ''The country will decide my performance. Media main bhi to hera pheri hoti hai.'' The Railway Minister said he was visiting Amritsar and Kapurthala also and would examine complaints about the deteriorating standards in Shatabadi trains.
