High-quality gas discovered in Jaisalmer

Jaipur, May 25 (UNI) Large reserves of high quality gas have been discovered at Shahgarh sub-basin in Jaisalmer.

The gas was found at a depth of 3,161 mt in Pariwar formation by Focus Energy Ltd. Its quality is estimated as 88 to 91 hydrocarbon, similar to the gas occurred at Miano and Swan fields in Pakistan.

The goverment had awarded this block to Focus Energy, formerly known as Phoenix Overseas, and ONGC in joint venture for an area of 5,390 sq km.
