Hashim Qureshi detained in Kashmir
Srinagar, May 25 (UNI) Democratic Liberation Party (DLP) Chief Hashim Qureshi was detained by the police and security forces on the outskirts of Srinagar city today on the second day of the round- table conference chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here.
Sources said Qureshi was detained at Batapora chowk in Zakura area on the city outskirts when he was on way from Naseem Bagh to his residence at Shalimar near here this afternoon.
The founder-member of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation (JKLF) was detained by the security forces at Zakura police station.
Qureshi had earlier rejected the Centre's invitation to participate in the second round-table conference.
He was the only separatist leader to have taken part in the first such conclave at New Delhi on February 25.
