Eco-friendly granite sawing machine to be introduced in India
Bangalore, May 25 (UNI) Italy-based Bideseimpiantii Srl's new eco-friendly diamond sawing machine, to be used in the granite cutting and polishing industry replacing the age-old sandsaw technology, will be introduced for the first time in the country.
Talking to newspersons here today, company Director (International Marketing) Giovanni Lanceni said the state-of-the-art machine, developed and marketed by the company, had the capability to conserve power and time, and reduce environmental pollution, besides improving the working condition at the field level. It also offered significant cost saving in polishing the slabs after cutting the granite slabs.
He said the multi-wire Gold-60 diamond wire saw was designed to cut slabs of granite and other stones with high output levels and save energy to the extent of ten to 12 KW per sqmt of granite.
Mr Lanceni said that in Karnataka, over 100 units of conventional machines with sandsaw technology were operating and exuded confidence that they would be replaced by the new machine, costing about Rs 2.5 crore per unit, in about five to eight years.
After its introduction in Italy, Spain, Brazil and Canada, the new machine would be installed at Malur industrial area in Kolar district of Karnataka for the first time in the country, he said, expressing hope that the stone industry, growing at over eight per cent annually worldwide, would be benefitted out of it.
