Chintamani receives heavy rainfall of 7 cm

Bangalore, May 25 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the Weather Office here at 0830hrs today.

Rainfall occurred at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over South interior Karnataka.

Chintamani (Kolar dt) recorded heavy rainfall of 7 cm.

Other chief rainfall amounts (cm): Kolar, H.B.Halli 5 each, Kundagol, Savanur 4 each, Gowribidanur 3, Mangalore, Karkala, Deodurg, Virajpet, Bangarpet, Srinivasapura Bagepalli, Devanahalli 2 each, Belthangadi, Mudibidre, Mulki, Subramanya Kumta, Gangavathy, Alland, Chincholi, Shahapur, Jeewargi, Bhagamandala, Sidlaghatta, Tumkur, Agumbe 1 each.

Maximum temperatures fell at many places over North Interior Karnataka and changed little over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka. They were appreciably above normal at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and remained normal over South Interior Karnataka and however they were below normal at a few places over North Interior Karnataka.

Bellary recorded highest maximum temperature of 37 degree celsius over the State.

Forecast valid until Saturday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at a few over Coastal Karnataka and at isolated places over Interior Karnataka Farmers Weather Bulletin: Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts of oastal Karnataka and Bidar, Raichur, Gulbarga districts of North Interior Karnataka and Kodagu, Bellary districts of South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over remaining districts of Coastal Karnataka, North Interior Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.

Forecast for Bangalore city: Partly cloudy. Thundery development likely towards evening/night. Maximum temperature would be around 32 degree celsius.
