BJP dares TRS to quit UPA on Telangana
Hyderabad, May 25 (UNI) The BJP today challenged TRS leaders K Chandrasekhara Rao and A Narendra to quit the UPA Government to prove their commitment to the formation of Telangana state.
Talking to newsmen here, BJP National Secretary Bandaru Dattatreya alleged TRS Leaders and Union Ministers K Chandrasekhara Rao and A Narendra had 'mortgaged' the self-respect of the Telangana people by just wasting time in seeking an appointment with AICC President Sonia Gandhi to discuss the issue.
Mr Dattatreya said the TRS leaders should stop pinning their hopes on Ms Gandhi and help restore the self-respect of the Telangana people.
He said Telangana will not be a reality as long as the they remained with the UPA Government.
In Nellore, Bharatiya Jana Sakti Founder-President Uma Bharti suggested the two TRS leaders come out of the government and fight for a separate state.
Ms Bharti told newsmen that she advised them to leave the UPA Government during a dinner meeting at Hyderabad.
Mr Rao told her that they would quit if there was no assurance on Telangana in 90 days.
Meanwhile, Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) Founder-Leader S Ramadoss clarified at Hyderabad that his party would not exert pressure on the Congress on the issue.
The TRS should remain in the UPA and fight for their cause, he said and added the party (TRS) will not leave the alliance.
