Bharatiya Jana Sakti to be launched in Assam
Guwahati, May 25: Bharatiya Jana Sakti (BJS), formed by former firebrand BJP leader Uma Bharati, is all set to launch its Asom Unit in the first week of June.
A state-level convention of the workers of BJS would be held here on June 4 and an adhoc committee of the BJS Asom Unit would be formed. The Central leadership of the party has already appointed Chandra Kanta Mahanta as its Convenor, Janadesh Yatra Asom Unit President Munindra Sinha Lahkar, said.
Talking to mediapersons here today, Mr Lahkar claimed that several prominent BJP leaders have resigned from the party for alleged "deviation" from the party's ideology and "largescale corruption" throughout the country, including Asom.
Mr Lahkar criticised the State BJP leadership for its "dictatorial type of functioning" and alleged that it has "taken money" for issuing party tickets in the recently concluded elections in the state.
He said the BJS would work for self-respect, security and good governance following the ideals of Syama Prasad Mukherjee, Mahatma Gandhi and Deendayal Upadhaya.
BJS would work for the solution of foreigners issue, unemployment problem and flood in every year, he said.
Former BJP State Unit secretary Bhubananda Barthakur also present in the media meet, besides Mr C.Mahanta.
