Air India Express to cost 25-30 pc cheaper
Dubai, May 25: Keralites in Gulf countries, who complain of high airfare to their state, will now benefit from the low-cost fare offered by Air India from October, a top airline official has said.
The airline's low-budget carrier Air India Express would begin service to Bahrain in its winter schedule, Air India's Regional Director for Gulf, West Asia and Africa Sanjeev Talwar said.
The fares would be 25 to 30 per cent cheaper than the normal Air India flight and could be booked online.
''We planned to include Bahrain and Doha in April this year, but it had to be postponed due to the shortage of aircraft,'' Mr Talwar told the Gulf Daily News.
Air India Express currently operates from Kerala and Mumbai to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Al Ain, Muscat and Salalah.
Earlier booking would mean cheaper fares, Mr Talwar addded.
