Suzuki motorcycles to appoint 100 dealers before June
Tiruchirapalli, May 24 (UNI) The motorcycle giant Suzuki Motorcycle India will open 100 dealer outlets across the country before the end of June.
Addressing a press conference, Shigeru Matsuda, Operation Head (Marketing and Administration), Suzuki, said the dealer network would be 70 plus before March end. The company had identified 400 outlets in 300 major towns, to be opened in a phased manner.
After inaugurating the 57th dealer outlet here this evening, he said the factory at Gurgaon in Haryana had a production capacity of 10,000 units per shift a month and this would be enhanced gradually.
As of now the total product comprised ten per cent of components imported from Japan (engine etc) and the rest were either produced or outsourced from 80 vendors - a mixture of large and small industries from all over the country, he added.
About new models in the pipeline, Mr Matsuda did not disclose details. He, however assured that Suzuki would come out with at least one new model every year. On export, although there were queries from Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh and African countries, the company was not planning for supplies from India in the near future.
Earlier, addressing the inaugural function of Suzuki's showroom here, promoted by the Dinamalar group, a popular Tamil daily, he said this was the fifth showroom in tamilnadu and the sixth would be at Salem, to be opened tomorrow. Erode would follow next week.
