Shyam Saran holds discusses with Permanent Under Secretary

London, May 24 (UNI) Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran, who is on a two-day visit to the UK, met Permanent Under Secretary in the Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Office Sir Michael Jay today.

They exchanged views on bilateral and international affairs, including preparations for the forthcoming G8 Summit meeting between the Leaders of the G8 and the Outreach countries, to be held at St Petersburg. The issues discussed included health, education and energy, official sources said.

Tomorrow, Mr Saran will speak at the International Institute of Strategic Studies on 'India and the Emerging World Order.' Prior to the address, Mr Saran will meet the media during a press conference at the Indian High Commission here.
