Rupee weak; opens 7 paise down at 45.59 per USD

Mumbai, May 24 :The rupee today opened weaker at 45.59 per US dollar as compared to the last close of 45.51/52, a dealer in the forex market said.

However, strong recovery in the benchmark index of BSE with stocks trading at 10,950.77 with a gain of 128 points at 1220 hrs augurs well for the investors and would bring some respite to the money market as well.
