Priyanka Chopra's ex secretary seeks anticipatory bail
Mumbai, May 24 (UNI) Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra's former secretary Prakash J Jaju today filed an anticipatory bail application before the sessions court, fearing arrest on a complaint lodged by Priyanka's father for allegedly threatening them.
The matter which was to come up before the sessions judge A T Vaidya today, has been deferred till tomorrow. However, the judge turned down the applicant's appeal for interim relief till the disposal of the matter.
A complaint has been lodged against Jaju with the Oshiwara Police on May 22 by Priyanka's father Ashok Chopra who has accused the former of issuing threatening calls to the Chopra family and sending vulgar messages to his daughter Priyanka.
Jaju in his anticipatory bail application said Priyanka Chopra had failed to pay his dues and he had filed a private complaint before the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate court during 2004 in this regard. However, process on the said complaint has been stayed after Priyanka approached the Bombay High Court for quashing the process against her.
Jaju claimed that Priyanka owed him over Rs 69 lakh as fees and royalty for several movies she had signed during his tenure as her secretary and the services he provided to her during the last four years since February 2001.
He prayed in his application that the FIR has been registered against him maliciously and only to take revenge and humiliate him.
Jaju further contended that he is a resident of Mumbai and not likely to abscond, nor has he has any previous criminal record. He also assured that he will make himself available before the police whenever needed and will not tamper with evidences.
