Nearly 70,000 to sit for COMED-K Common Entrance Test
Bangalore, May 24 (UNI) As many as 69,116 candidates, aspiring to get admissions into professional colleges, will be attending the Common Entrance Test (CET) to be conducted by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges-Karnataka (COMED-K) on May 28.
COMED-K Executive Secretary, in a release here today, said the Consortium offered 31,469 engineering seats, 1,895 medical seats and 1,740 dental seats. The CET would be held in 109 centres, including 66 in Bangalore, he added.
While students from Karnataka would be offered 55.2 per cent of the seats, the remaining would go to Non-Karnataka students.
Reservation would be made for students belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, OBCs and Minorities.
He said biometric identification had been introduced to ensure fairness. The list of the test centers had been posted on the COMED-K website.
Hall tickets had been despatched on May 22 and students who had not received it could contact COMED-K helpline, he added.
