Murli Sharma in foreign production 'Rock n Meera'
Mumbai, May 24 (UNI) Actor Murli Sharma, who was seen in significant roles in films like 'Maqbool', 'Main Hoon Na' and 'Apharan', has just completed shooting for the American production 'Rock n Meera'.
Directed by US-based Param Gill, in the film Murli plays lead actress Nauheed Cyrus' brother Prem, a software engineer in the US.
''Like any brother, he loves his sister a lot and he is protective about her,'' says Murli about his character in the film. ''It was a pleasant experience working on the film and it's a well written script,'' he added.
He is also looking forward to the release of another international film 'The Mem Sahib', directed by Kruti Mazumdar, which, interestingly, is a film spanning from 1850 to the present, where Murli plays Raja Kishor Singh.
''The character I play is the king of the neighbouring State and the film has been shot in the Royal Palaces of Rajkot. It was a great experience,'' Murli said, who is currently working on Sudhanshu Jha's 'Ek Dastak', a film revolving around the lives of a few income tax officers.
''The film has real characters and situations, so the drama is real. We just have about four days of work left on it,'' he said.
On his work on television, he said, ''I am doing a series for Satyajeet Bhatkal, who made 'Chale Chalo', the documentary on the movie 'Lagaan'...be it films or television, I want to do work which allows me to do something new and takes me a step further every time,'' Murli said.
