Money changer robbed, shot dead

Kapurthala, May 24 (UNI) Unidentified persons today shot dead a money changer and looted the cash, amounting to Rs 2.35 lakh, he was carrying in village Tajpur on the city outskirts.

The deceased, Balwinder Singh (45), was waylaid by the robbers after he was going on a motorcycle after withdrawing the cash amount from a bank, police here said.

SSP Rajiv Ahir and other police officials reached the spot and police set up blockades to apprehend the accused. A case has been registered.
