Medicos cane charged in Bhopal

Bhopal, May 24 (UNI) Four medicos were injured today as police intervened to disperse the junior doctors and medical students, who resorted to road blockade in front of the Hamidia hospital as part of their agitation against OBC reservation.

Four medicos were injured in the police action, Junior Doctors Association spokesman Amit Tyagi said, adding that the agitation would be intensified tomorrow.

Additional Superintendent of Police Deepak Verma denied that the police cane charged the agitators and claimed that police just intervened to remove the road blockade.

Meanwhile, hospital Superintendent Sharad Tiwari said direct action would be taken against the junior doctors who fail to join duty by tomorrow. He indicated dismissal of the erring doctors as part of the disciplinary action against the agitators.

The junior doctors of Indore, Gwalior, Rewa and Jabalpur also remained on strike.
