Mumbai, May 24 (UNI) Larsen&Toubro (L&T) has bagged its first hydro-electric project via the public-private partnership model - the Rs 500 crore 60 MW Singoli Bhatwari hydro-electric power project from the Uttaranchal government.
In a communique to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), L&T has informed that the project will be executed on a build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis, under which it will develop, finance, construct, commission and operate the power plant for a concession period of 45 years.
The project involves design and construction of a 20-m high and 80-m long barrage, 12-km long head-race tunnel, a surface powerhouse, sub-station and a 12-km long 132-KV transmission line.
While Francis turbines will be used to generate 361 million units of energy in a year with 90 per cent rain fall, the detailed project report is under preparation and a project development and implementation agreement will be signed with the Uttaranchal government for its successful implementation, the release said.
