Labourer dies, two injured in power station mishap

Akola, May 24 : A labourer was killed and two others were seriously injured in the Paras thermal power station here when a boiler top collapsed on them.

Work on the extension of the power station is in progress for which the labourers have been deployed, police said.

In the mishap yesterday, Chandsa Ghamisa (45), hailing from Madhya Pradesh, died while two other labourers sustained injuries.

Recently, in another incident at the site, two labourers were killed when some construction material fell on them, sources added.

The construction at the power station is being done on a contractual basis by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), which has sub-let the present work to Deshpande Electricals.
