Helmet case: One more youth succumbs

Hyderabad, May 24 (UNI) One more youth in the Khairatabad accident case died this morning at a corporate hospital in Nampally, near here.

Speaking to newspersons after visiting the hospital where Moshin died, Information Minister Mohd Ali Shabbir said the government will give an ex-gratia of Rs two lakh to the victim's family members and a loan through State Minority Welfare Department to his brother besides other benefits.

On 22 May, Moshin and another youth Sharief tried to speed away on their motorcycle when they were about to be caught by the police for not wearing helmets.

The motorcycle hit the road divider and a pole. Both were taken to the hospital. While Sharif died on May 22, Moshin was battling for his life and succumbed today.

However, some eye witness reports said traffic police chased the youth when they were driving without helmets.
