Govt must analyse its policy on terrorism: BJP
New Delhi, May 24 (UNI) The BJP today said that it chose to stay away from the the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's second two-day round table beginning today because the government was yet to demonstrate to the people its seriousness in its fight against terrorism.
Explaining the reasons behind the BJP boycotting the round table, party spokesman Arun Jaitley said after what happened in Doda, unless the Government stated its clear policy on terrorism backed by concrete steps, there was no point in attending the conference. Even the Ladakh groups had stayed away from the round table and it was important that government seriously analysed its policy on terrorism, he added.
He said Kashmir was an important aspect of India's policy on foreign affairs, defence and internal security policy, and the government had failed to instil confidence in the people that it was serious in fighting terrorism.
'' It has lost the confidence of the people after the Doda massacres,'' he said.
