Cricket bookies held in Hanumangarh

Sriganganagar, May 24 (UNI) Police have arrested four bookies from Hanumangarh district in a raid and seized a laptop and ten mobile phones.

The bookies were operating in bets in a shop in the Dhanmandi area yesterday when the police arrested them. Police found a record of bets worth Rs 43 lakh on the seized laptop.

Hanumangarh ASP, Dr Nitindeep said the bookies were betting on the one day cricket match between India and West Indies.

Dr Nitindeep said there were constant phone calls on the mobile from different bookies. The bookies have been arrested under the Gambling Act.
