Bharti Airtel to invest Rs 400 cr in Bengal
Kolkata, May 24: Bharti Airtel Ltd would spend Rs 400 crore in the current fiscal to spruce up its infrastructure in West Bengal.
Bharti Airtel's chief operating officer, Mobility, Kolkata Telecom Circle, Ajai Puri told reporters that Rs 200 crore would be spent in the Kolkata circle to expand the private telecom service provider's infrastructure.
The remaining Rs 200 crore would be invested in other parts of the state, he said.
Bharti Airtel has an aggregate of over 22.03 million customers, including 20.68 million mobile customers, as on the end of April 2006.
