AIDWA supports Suryanarayana's second wife
Hyderabad, May 24 (UNI) The All India Democratic Women's Association (AIDWA) today extended its support to slain Indian engineer Suryanarayana's second wife Swapna whose dharna, demanding a share in the compensation announced for the family, entered the third day.
AIDWA leader Lilavati met Swapna, who claimed that she was the wife of the Indian engineer killed by the Talibans in Afghanistan, and extended the association's support to her.
Swapna has demanded a share in the compensation and a respectable position for her and her daughter in the family. Suryanarayana's father Chandrasekhar, however, denied that his son had married her.
She also produced photographs before the media to support her claim.
Swapna told newspersons that she would not hesitate to break the lock of the gate to enter the house.
Police, who were keeping an eye on the situation, told the media that they would not interfere as long as the agitation was peaceful.
