AIDS patients spurt in MP

Shajapur, MP, May 24: The number of AIDS patients is going up every year in Madhya Pradesh's Shajapur district with the number touching 85 in the latest count, official sources said.

Shajapur district, where the number of AIDS patients stood at 24 in 2000, has gone up to 85 last month. About 25 per cent of them are women. Three AIDS patients died in the district last year.

Indore has the highest number of AIDS patients at 505 followed by 310 patients in Ujjain. Damoh, Dindori, Sidhi and Anuppur also has one patient each.
