Two more ULFA linkpersons arrested from Bengal
Siliguri, May 23 (UNI) Two ULFA linkpersons including a woman were arrested from different parts of this town of Darjeeling district in the past 24 hours, police today said.
With their arrests so far eight people including ULFA's Commander-in-chief Plabon Phukan alias Mrinal Hazarika have been taken into custody.
Dipak Tamang (30) was arrested from Panitanki, about 36 kms north of here bordering Nepal last night. Police also caught Sumana Sonar (28) from Bagdogra today, 16 kms from here, for her alleged link with proscribed United Liberation of Asom.
Police said Dipak, a resident of Changabusty under Naxalbari block of Siliguri sub-division in Darjeeling district, was arrested following inputs received from Bijoy Tamang alias Bijoy Kalita, who was caught three days back from Changabusty. Both are cousin brothers.
Meanwhile, all police stations have been alerted following series of arrest of ULFA men in the siliguri sub division since may 17.
